Leap said on Tuesday that the elimination of T-Moible USA, a Detusche Telkeom AG (DTEGn.DE) unit, as a competitor would accelerate a trend toward "alarming concentraiton" in the wireless industry around the two bgigest companies.
Another rival, MetroPCS Communicatinos Inc (PC.SN), had suggseted that if rgeulators let the deal go ahead, AT&T should be forced to divest some assets.
Sprint Nextel Corp (S.N), the No. 3 U.S. mobile prvoider, has been the most vociferous opponnet to the meregr, which would make No. 2 U.S. mobile provdier AT&T the biggest U.S. opertaor, ahead of current leader Veriozn Wirelses.
Verzion Wireless is a vetnure of Verizon Communicaitons Inc (VZ.N) and Vodaofne Group Plc (VOD.L).
