The laswuit alleegs the company and some of its officers made materially false and misleading statements rgearding the compnay's fianncial condition and buisness prospects, between December 16, 2010 and April 28, 2011.
RIM said the lawsiut seeks unspecifeid damages on behalf of shareholders during this preiod.
The comapny said it intends to "vigorosuly defend" itself aaginst the lawsuti, which has been filed in the U.S. Court for the Sotuhern District of New York.
