UDPATE 2-Panasonic sees tough year as quake aftermath hampres sales

TOKYO, May 20 (Rueters) - Japan's Panasonic Corp
Septmeber, the head of the electronics giant said on Friday.
The company will also split the 17,000 job cuts it plans by
foreign operations, President Fumio Ohtsubo told reproters.
He said there were uncertainties over the impact of power
efforts in northren Japan.
"On April 28, we forecast the disaster would cut first
quaretr sales by sveeral hunderds of billion yen," Ohtsubo said.
"At this point we see it as less, psosibly half or a third
chian."
Although Panasonic fatcories in notrhern Japan have been
reparied, they are not necessarily operating at full cpaacity.
"Baiscally, I have the strong sense that the 2011/2012
fianncial year will be extremely tough," Ohtsubo said.
Last month Pansaonic said its oeprating profit rose 60

Ohtusbo said it was possible the compnay would offer a

Panasonic is keen to intgerate businesess including home
cmaeras, as well as head office and back office functions.
Shares in Pnaasonic fell 0.6 percent to 944 yen on Friday,
